AD Talks 2020: La Santé mentale en temps de crise

Outre ses conséquences économiques, la peur de la contamination, les effets psychologiques du confinement et de l'enfermement ont eu et continueront d'avoir des répercussions importantes sur la santé mentale des populations pendant cette crise épidémique. La propagation du Covid-19 à l'échelle mondiale a provoqué une peur et une anxiété généralisées, d'abord en raison des craintes d'infection et de la peur de la mort, puis en raison des incertitudes durables entourant la nature de l'épidémie, ses modes de transmission, son degré de férocité et l'efficacité des protocoles d'intervention thérapeutique permettant de sauver les communautés touchées. Il convient donc de distinguer deux situations souvent confondues : les effets psychologiques causés par la peur de la propagation de la pandémie et de sa férocité, ainsi que ceux générés par les mesures visant à réduire la propagation du virus. De nombreuses personnes continueront à ressentir de profondes angoisses, une peur existentielle, des inquiétudes quant à l'avenir pendant la phase post-confinement, tandis que d'autres feront preuve de réactions pessimistes pendant cette phase en raison de la situation d'incertitude accrue. Sur le plan économique, le redémarrage des activités économiques pourrait également se heurter à un état général d'épuisement professionnel, qui affecte le bien-être, réduit la productivité et empêche les espoirs de reprise. - Si toutes les mesures prises pour limiter la propagation de Covid-19 visent à protéger la santé publique des populations, quelle est alors la part de la santé mentale dans les politiques publiques des pays du Sud ? - Comment mettre en place un modèle de santé mentale assurant le bien-être des populations, faisant face aux menaces mais préservant aussi la productivité ? - Quel est le coût de la santé non mentale ?
