As the Capacity Building Specialist at the UNDP Regional Programme for Africa, Fatma Ahmed supports the African Union on conflict prevention and peacebuilding. For over 9 years, she has worked across Africa, the Middle East and Southeast Asia, focusing on stabilization, early recovery initiatives, countering and preventing violent extremism and conflict prevention. Fatma formerly acted as the Deputy Chief of Party during the establishment and setting up of the IGAD Center of Excellence in Preventing and Countering Violent Extremism in the Horn and East Africa region.
