Symposium: Migration Governance Capacities for Mediterranean Cities: A Strategic Urban Agenda for the Next Decade

Dr. Iván Martín, Senior Fellow at Policy Center for the New South, will be speaking at the Roundtable on City Networks and City Diplomacy Advancing EuroMed Strategies during the Symposium on Migration Governance Capacities for Mediterranean Cities.

This roundtable will focus on the evolving role of city networks and city diplomacy in fostering collaboration, capacity-building, and international partnerships among Mediterranean cities. It will examine new trends in city diplomacy and how city networks can promote cooperation and influence international agendas.

This roundtable will take place at University Pompeu Fabra, Ciutadella Campus, Sala Polivalent in Barcelona, Spain on October 23, 2024, from 16:00 to 17:30.

Iván Martín is Senior Fellow at the Policy Center for the New South, Adjunct Professor at the Faculty of Governance, Economic and Social Sciences of the Mohammed VI Polytechnic University (UM6P), and Associate Researcher at the Interdisciplinary Research Group on Immigration (GRITIM) at the Universitat Pompeu Fabra in Barcelona. Between 2013 and 2016 he was Part-time Professor at the Migration Policy Centre (MPC) of the European University Institute in Florence, as well as member of the Expert Group on Economic Migration of the European Commission and Key Expert on Labour Migration providing External Technical Expertise on Migration to DG DEVCO of the European Commission (ETEM V Project).
