Rakan Aboneaaj is a research associate on the Sustainable Development Finance team at the Center for Global Development, where he focuses on multilateral development bank reform and climate finance. He also consults on the World Bank’s Private Capital Facilitation unit. Previously, he worked at Altman Solon, a strategy consulting firm, and the Center for Strategic & International Studies. Rakan holds a BA in Economics and Middle East Studies from Brown University, and was a 2020 Fulbright Research Fellow in São Paulo, Brazil, where he studied the integration of migrants and refugees. Outside of work, Rakan serves as a docent at the Museum of Palestinian People, and co-chairs the Trade & Finance discussion group of Young Professionals in Foreign Policy (YFPF).
