Oumaima holds a Bachelors in Economics and a Master’s degree in Politics from SOAS University of London, where she has written her thesis on the effect of integrating SDGs related policies into North African economies. After working in NYC advising high-net-worth clients on their ESG portfolios and sustainable and ethical business practices, she went back to Morocco to get into politics. Once elected as the youngest city council member, she has campaigned and launched projects such as electric scooters and digital lamppost, in partnership with the private sector, to reduce carbon footprint and raise awareness on sustainable development. She has also been nominated as the country delegate for Morocco at the United Nations Conference of Youth 17 in Sharm Sheikh. In 2023, she was accepted to join the UN Sustainable Development Solutions Network as part of the Youth Initiative and the Local Pathways Fellowship.
