Deborah Braide is the Nigeria Research Coordinator for University of Massachusetts-Amherst/e-GUIDE on a project to support sustainable electrification of over 250,000 small and medium scale enterprises. Prior to this, she was the Renewable Energy (RE) and Energy Efficiency (EE) investment advisor at the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit(GIZ)/Nigerian Energy Support Programme(NESP) where she managed projects for development of National Waste Battery Management Policies and regulations, digital RE/EE investment solutions, streamlined importation process and National RE/EE equipment standards. She was also an energy associate at the Rural Electrification Agency of Nigeria. Through Enercate networks which she co-founded in 2016, she has implemented capacity building programs for over 2200 women and youth in STEM. She is currently researching Power-to-Liquids technologies for Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF). She is a World Economic Forum Global Shaper and British Chevening alumni. She holds an MSc. in Sustainable energy and entrepreneurship from the University of Nottingham.
