Bitania is an award-winning young leader with notable contributions toward the inclusion of youth and women in public policy at regional and global levels. She is currently the youngest Programme Director at Amref Health Africa Global Headquarters, leading the Y-ACT, Youth in Action initiative. Bitania was appointed as the first Special Adviser on Youth to EU Commissioner for International Partnerships in 2021/22, where she provided expertise on meaningful youth engagement in European Union’s External action. Bitania also conducts policy-oriented research and analysis on various development topics such as health, peace and security, regional integration, and migration. Bitania has received several international accolades for her commitment to social impact and sustainable development, including her listing as 100 Most Influential Young Africans 2021 and Obama Leaders 2022.
