Asma Bachikh is a water resources management specialist from Morocco, with a strong focus on the policy and management dimensions of freshwater resources. She has extensive experience working with multilateral development banks across various regions, including the Middle East, North Africa, South Asia, and Southeast Asia. Currently, Asma works at the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB) as an Investment Associate, where she supports the preparation and implementation of water infrastructure projects. Additionally, she has worked at the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP), concentrating on climate adaptation projects.
Asma holds an MSc in Water Science Policy and Management from the University of Oxford and a Master of Law in China Studies, specializing in International Relations and Politics, from Peking University. She is also an active researcher who has collaborated on several academic articles, with research interests that bridge science and policy within the water sector.
