Aïcha Baldé is currently an analyst for the Threat Assessment Division for Global Affairs Canada in Ottawa, Canada. Before this, she was a Socio-economic analyst for the Pan-Africa Affairs division at Global Affairs Canada, where she would prepare briefing notes for ministers focused on reactive files for climate change, climate finance, biodiversity, gender equality components and renewable energy in sub-Saharan Africa. Additionally, she created a weekly report (Views from Africa), where she would provide an analysis of policy implications and recommendations for sub-Saharan Africa in all policy-relevant areas (economy, trade, peace and security, health, environment and climate change, foreign policy, governance, and culture) to her department. Her previous professional experience includes working as a project officer in Haiti to support the community in gaining firmer soil by promoting and cultivating the Moringa tree with its many positive assets. Aïcha also worked as part of a project with Aiesec in Dalian, China, in developing presentations explaining Canada and China's cultural, political, social and economic differences. The exhibition was well received and sparked an active discussion on Asia and North America's economic and cultural differences. She completed her Master's in Public and International Affairs at the University of Ottawa in 2021. She is of Guinean descent and speaks French, English, Creole, Fulani and a little Mandarin.
