Yassine ZEGZOUTI obtained a PhD in Biotechnology and Environmental Sciences from Cadi Ayyad University in Marrakech. He is an expert in climate change, a trainer on solid and liquid waste management, and the founder of the Mawarid Association for Environment and Energy. Currently, Yassine is the Research Fellow of the Regional Program Energy Security and Climate Change in the Middle East and North Africa, Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung (KAS-REMENA). Dr. Zegzouti has coordinated and participated in several projects focusing on climate change and energy security in collaboration with the United Nations Program for the Environment (UNEP), the KAS-REMENA, and the German Agency for International Cooperation (GIZ). These include: the project “Climate Dialogue Punkt”, which aims to connect policy makers with many stockholders; and the study of “Acquisition of Electric BusWay (BHNS)”, which is a project aiming to provide safe, sustainable and efficient transportation services in Marrakech city. Dr. Zegzouti has also published extensively, especially in the areas of environment and climate change, and was involved in several international projects with 12 publications and more than 45 international conferences. Dr. Zegzouti contributed to the organization of 24 international conferences and workshops in the areas of water and environment. His consultancy and associative work led to his appointment as a member of several regional- and national-level environmental committees such as the Scientific Committee for the Organization of the 7th World Congress about Environmental Education, organized by Mohammed VI Foundation for Environmental Protection.
