Mr. Ignacio FUENTE COBO is a Spanish Artillery Colonel (Reserve) graduated from the Staff College and the NATO Defense College. He works as Senior Analyst at the Instituto Español de Estudios Estratégicos (IEEE) in Madrid, where he covers the area of, Mediterranean, Mahgreb/Sahel, Energy Security and NATO/EU issues. Previously he worked as a Faculty Adviser (professor) at the NATO Defense College (NDC) in Rome. He is a guest teacher in several Spanish universities such as Universidad de Granada, Universidad Carlos III (Madrid) and Universidad Rey Juan Carlos (Madrid). He has contributed to several books and journals and has published over 150 articles, papers and miscellaneous works in Spanish and foreign publications and newspapers.
He is the Spanish Representative at the Network of European Strategic Studies Institutions (NESSI). He has a Master Degree in Security and Defense by the University Institute “General Gutierrez Mellado” of the Open University.
