Amal El Ouassif, Senior International Relations Specialist at the Policy Center for the New South, will take part in the panel discussion titled "First Phase of the In-depth Exploration of Climate Mobility in Morocco" at COP29 in Baku, hosted at the Moroccan Pavilion.

In this context, The Union of Economic and Social Councils and Similar Institutions of Africa (UCESA) has launched the initial phase of exploring climate mobility in Morocco, in collaboration with institutions such as the World Bank and the Policy Center for the New South.

This initiative is based on participatory methodologies, combining workshops and qualitative and quantitative analyses to identify climate vulnerabilities specific to the Moroccan context.

This side event will provide an opportunity to share the first results of this exploration, co-constructed with local communities, to develop concrete recommendations rooted in the reality of the territories. The goal is to contribute to the development of resilient policies and an African narrative centered on the needs of our populations in the face of current climate challenges.
