Soazic Elise Wang Sonne is an economist with the Health, Nutrition and Population (HNP) Global Practice of the World Bank Group in Washington DC. She joined the World Bank in 2018 under the World Bank Africa Fellowship and in 2019 as a Young Professional. Her core areas of interest are: health financing, health data and analytics, impact evaluation of health interventions, Statistical Information System strengthening and Public Financial Management (PFM) in Fragile and Conflict Affected settings. She is a PhD research fellow from the United Nations University in the Netherlands (UNU-MERIT), a MBA graduate from Imperial College London and a Public Leadership Credential Candidate at the Harvard Kennedy School. She was a visiting research scholar at UC Berkeley, The University of Oxford, New York University and The Max Planck institute in Rostock and received numerous academic fellowships and research prizes including the 2015 United Nations Economic Commission for Africa (UNECA) fellowship; the 2012 Cameroon UK Chevening Women Scholarship, the 2018 research fellow with the European Investment Bank and the 2020 UK Imperial College London Women Award. Elise serves as a Jury of the Einstein foundation award.
