Dr. Sidi Mohamed Dhaker is actually Director General of the Institute of Economic Studies at the Central Bank of Mauritania and Associate Professor of Management and Economics at the University of Nouakchott and the National School of Administration.
He was previously Senior Advisor to the Governor, Chief of Staff to the Governor, Director of PR and Communications, and Director of Strategy and transformation of the Central bank.
Before joining the central bank, he was Director of Monitoring and Evaluation at World Vision International in West Africa and has worked as a strategy consultant for several organisations and international organizations in Europe and especially in Africa.
Dr. Dhaker is International speaker and activist, he is actually board member of several regional and international initiatives. To name a few : Africa Fintech Forum (AFF), A new Round-table on African Debts (A new ROAD), and Maghreb Economic Forum (MEF).
Sidi Mohamed was awarded the Mandela Washington Fellowship for Young African Leaders (2015), Atlantic Emerging Leader (2017), Special Award Francophone Young Leader (2018), and French-African Young Leader (2019), and the Transformer’s Award (2020). He was also part of Choiseul 100 Africa ranking (2019 to 2023).
Dr. Dhaker holds various Master’s degrees in management science (University of Versailles), strategic management (HEC Paris), economics and international development (University of Paris XII), and international management (Georgetown University) and completed a doctoral program in strategy and management. He earned also several executive certificates in Public Policy (Georgia State University), and Fintech and innovation (University of Cambridge)
