Ryan Berger is currently a postgraduate student at Columbia University’s School of International and Public Affairs, where he is concentrating in international affairs and specializing in Latin American and African studies.
Based in New York City, Berger previously lived in Rio de Janeiro, where he worked at the U.S. Department of State as a political and economic affairs assistant, and at the Fundação Getulio Vargas as a visiting researcher. Prior to his time in Brazil, he was a policy associate at Americas Society and Council of the Americas (AS/COA) in New York, and an editor atAmericas Quarterly, AS/COA’s policy journal. Since beginning his program at Columbia, he has worked as a consultant for both the Economist Intelligence Unit in New York and McLarty Associates in Washington, DC.
