Luci is an investor at Base10 Partners where she co-leads investments for the Advancement Initiative, a growth fund that invests in pre-IPO companies and donates 50% of the carry to historically black colleges in the US. Prior to Base10, Luci came from McKinsey & Company, where she helped establish the firm’s Institute for Black Economic Mobility. As a part of her work, she helped an industry consortium develop billions of dollars in corporate commitments to diversity, including skills-building and access, supporting black-owned businesses, and long-term financial security for communities of color. Prior to McKinsey, she helped develop the strategy for a $50M impact fund for Salesforce Ventures, and served as an Economic Advisor in the Office of the Prime Minister of Cabo Verde (Strategic Policy Center).
Luci holds an MBA and a certificate in public management and social innovation from Stanford Graduate School of Business and a BA from Yale University. She’s spent her life between Cabo Verde and the US, with a short stint in China, and has traveled to over 35 countries.
