Lamia Bazir is the founder of Empowering Wo-men in the Atlas, a non-profit organization focused on community development and women’s empowerment.
Currently, she works for the head of the government of Morocco on the second compact of the Millennium Challenge Corporation, and sits on the board of directors for the High Atlas Foundation. Her professional experience includes working as an analyst for the Arab League, as a consultant for Transparency International, and as a field researcher in Niger. She is the recipient of several awards and has delivered speeches at the UN Youth Assembly, Al Akhawayn University, and Stanford University. Bazir has been an American Association of University Women fellow and served as a representative to the UN. She holds a master’s degree in international affairs from Columbia University, and a master’s degree in international development from Sciences Po in Paris.
