The African Center for Economic Transformation (ACET) and the Policy Center for the New South (PCNS), with the support of government and institutional partners, are organizing a high-level Policy Dialogue titled Africa’s Agenda for Global Financial Architecture Reform, on Saturday, Octobre 14, 2023, at 09:00.

Since the Bretton Woods Institutions held their last annual meetings on African soil over five decades ago, the international financial landscape has undergone significant transformation. African nations have witnessed shifts in economic power dynamics, technological advancements, and evolving global challenges. In a rapidly changing global economic landscape, the need for a responsive and inclusive global financial architecture is more pressing than ever.

African nations face unique challenges and opportunities that require a re-evaluation of their role in shaping the international financial system. This Policy Dialogue aims to bring together African finance ministers, policy think tanks, civil society leaders, and key media partners participating in the World Bank/IMF Annual Meetings to agree on critical actions over the next 12-18 months that will ensure that African priorities for the reform of the Global Financial Architecture (GFA) continue to gain traction and Africa’s voice continues to grow.
